Things to Do

The Asheville Pocket Guide features a sweet little stretch of the river and land from Hominy Creek to Glenn Creek. There’s so much going on with this 6-mile linear corridor that we break up the adventures into a variety of sections. Each section showcases an endless array of outdoor and indoor experiences. Simply pick your flavor and filter through the categories to fine-tune your visit. Skip along all of them to plan your next outing along the French Broad River!

All things river related – from river access points, outfitters, greenways and riverside parks.

The River Arts District is home to over 180 artists working within a colony of warehouse buildings and studios. Several of studio strolls take place throughout the year but something is going on everyday! We offer a rotating sampling of local galleries, artists and events so check in often and stay in touch.

There’s plenty of experiential and hands on opportunities in and around the corridor. We lead you along greenways, dog parks, pocket parks, cycling routes and botanical gardens.

Some of Asheville’s favorite restaurants, music halls, breweries and coffee shops are located along the riverside district. Click on “Shop Local” to find an eclectic selection of local, independently owned businesses.

We like to point you in the right direction then let you loose to find your own adventure. But we do have a few recommendations for lodging, camping, getting around and more.

Thanks for visiting our website and we hope you enjoy the tour!
